Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark

by Cyril Kardashevsky

Aquaventure Waterpark in Dubai is one of the largest water parks in the world and the biggest in the city. Aquapark is located on the Palm Jumeirah and it’s bigger than Wild Wadi, the second biggest aquapark in Dubai.

The water park opened in 2008 and offers over 30 rides and water slides across three towers (from family-friendly to extreme), and a bunch of attractions and experiences. On the most extreme water slide at Aquaventure, you can reach speeds of up to 37 miles per hour (60 kilometers per hour).

Aquaventure’s expansive territory covers over 140 acres, boasting a mini “city” with numerous pools, attractions, and recreation areas. There is a large beach where you can walk, sunbathe, or just relax (Aquaventure Beach extends along 0.6 miles or 1 kilometer of private beachfront). There are lots of places to sit and relax too.

Visitors can also enjoy a dolphin lagoon, a bay with playful sea lions, a 1-mile river for rafting, and a Splashers Island children’s area with plenty of mazes and other amenities for adventures. The whole park has lots of security spots and lifeguards, so you and your kids will be safe here.

There are also extreme rides for those looking for a more adrenaline-rushed experience. Visit Neptune’s Tower, the tallest water slide at 85 feet high (27 meters), or the Poseidon’s Revenge — a 90 feet (28 meter) free-fall slide.

In addition to rides, the water park also offers a wide range of other entertainment. For example, the local aquarium houses over 65,000 marine creatures, including sharks, rays, fish, and coral. Besides, you can dine at the restaurant, which offers plenty of food and drink.

At the water park entrance, you’ll find various shops, including those selling Atlantis Aquaventure branded souvenirs.
